Life Is a Spiritual Struggle
I thought this was an interesting way to explain school. I like that he compared a past time hobby to teaching students. I can relate to this because I feel that in playing sports, I have acquired many characteristics that can help me in other ways. You need motivation to get somewhere in life and you can't be lazy. Just like on a team, the people around you are dependent of you. Since I also want to be a teacher, I think it can relate because your students will need you to work hard with them and for them in order for them to succeed. You face obstacles just like facing an opposing team or fighter in his case, and you have to get past them in order to overcome them and reach your goals. You don't want to let the people depending on you down and have to stay strong for those who look up to you and that you are supposed to be there for, just like him with teaching his students and getting them to graduation. He says we all train for our battle and are faced with it everyday. Though that battle is different for everyone, we all need the characteristics to keep moving forward to get where we want to be and win it.

Admittance to a Better Life
I really liked this podcast. I think it was helpful to encourage people to go out of their comfort zone and chose to better their lives and themselves. This shows me that no matter where you come from or who you may have been before, there is always enough time for change and you can always overcome your past. This gives me more encouragement in being at college away from everything comfortable and familiar to me. I had to leave my comfort zone, without the people close to me, and go make something of myself. In life, we have to take risks and put ourselves out there in order to get anywhere. I really liked that he accepted his past and didn't let it stop him from making a future for himself. He could give a lot of people the push they need to do the same.

This I Believe
I strongly agree with this. I think that knowledge and being smart isn't all about going to school and getting education in those ways. I think you become educated through personal life experiences and learning how to deal with them. She said that her nona was a very strong women that had a lot of faith. I agree that faith is important in getting anywhere in life and you need to believe in yourself or you won't be likely to take risks and follow your dreams. I think the more you go through, the more knowledgeable you are in life and can relate to others more easily. Though everyone's experiences differ, we all get through them in similar ways and grow as individuals through good and bad.
